Hello! I’m Maureen. I started Playful Pedagogy because I believe that we learn best through play.
Here you’ll find the practices, routines and mindsets that that have shaped my teaching. Playful Pedagogy blends purposeful play and game-like challenges with laughter and joy to spark curiosity, build understanding, and make thinking visible through engaging learning opportunities.

Playing games or adding game-like elements— goals, challenges, and feedback—to activities increases motivation, participation, and meaningful engagement with learning activities.
Laugh Out Loud Learning
Joyful, welcoming and humor-rich approaches to teaching lower the affective filters of learner by easing stress and helping them feel relaxed, confident, and ready to engage.
